The porcelain bridge is nothing more than a few porcelain crowns, permanently connected to each other and what is the crown you will learn here:

More about porcelain crowns

Lack of a single or several teeth can be supplemented by implanting in the places of missing teeth and making porcelain crowns on them.

If, for some reason, we do not decide on implants, the alternative may be porcelain bridges.

At this point, we present what a porcelain bridge is .....

More about porcelain bridge

A porcelain bridge can be made to rebuild one or more missing teeth. We will try to explain how it looks on simple examples:

Case 1

The patient is missing 1 tooth: 'upper right'
In this case, you can make a 3-point porcelain bridge, resting on adjacent teeth, i.e. on the #4 and on #2. For this purpose, of course, these teeth must be properly prepared, ie polished, and their 'health status' can not leave any doubts (teeth must be healed). So, to rebuild the lack of one tooth, we use two neighboring ones and we make a 3-point porcelain bridge (consisting of 3 teeth, in this case teeth #2, #3, #4).

Case 2

The patient is missing "#3" and "#5"
As before, in order to restore deficiencies, we use neighboring teeth of the patient, in this case they will be: #2, #6 but also #4, which is between the missing teeth. Here the bridge will be composed of 5 points (the patient will eventually have 5 'new teeth').

Case 3

The patient lacks two teeth next to each other, #2 and #3.
Reconstruction in such a situation can usually be made using a 4-point porcelain bridge, based on #1 and #4.
Finally a 4-point bridge will be made (including teeth 1,2,3,4)

Case 4

The patient has all his teeth but they are ugly and unsightly.
In this case, porcelain bridges can also be used. All patient's teeth, to which the bridge is to be cemented, must be healthy (those that are not, they are healed before the bridge is permanently cemented), the teeth must be ground and the prepared for the porcelain bridge (cemented - as in any previous case).

How many points do you have? - how many teeth the patient covers (1 point = 1 tooth). The example below:

At this point, we present the porcelain bridge on the patient's own teeth ...
